don't randomly submit bank account info online  | | | |  My co - worker told me this morning, and officially warn us in email, do not randomly submit your bank account info when you were asked by those spam mails. Her husband was asked to submit his bank account information through the hypertext link; due to the reason the bank is going through system restructuring, and they want to make sure their customers have their valid account. Her husband getting suspicious, and bring the laptop to the nearest bank branch, and ask what was going on. The bank staff declare they never send out such email to ask customer to submit their information through email or links. They will report it to the police and investigate such crime. They probably will track down the source of this email.
So, for the best, if any of you receive such email, do not do anything, and you must call your bank to confirm such action was from theirs.

| |  Yes, you never, NEVER submit personal info through an e-mail or through a link provided in the e-mail. This is a common phishing tactic. Always access your bank's website directly through an outside link and make sure it is a secure connection.
Another tip, do not give out any personal info over the phone either.

To make sure, most people would make a phone call to their bank service line first, to make sure whether they send out such email or not. If not, tell the bank to clear this out. Any information you need to update would be after login in to their system using your existing credentials. Here too make sure that the connection to the bank is through "https://" protocol and not standard "http://" protocol. You may also verify their digital certificate by clicking on th "padlock" icon on the status bar.
