WAAAHHHHH!!! Seven or MORE inches of snow expected tomorrow!  

Scared? I'm not scared of snow, I'm SICK of snow! We've had too much. We shovel off our cars, our sidewalks, our driveways, then it snows again and we have to shovel again. Then, it snows again, and again. People are missing time from work because they can't get to it, the State is way over-budget in the snow removal costs, merchants are losing money because people can't get out to shop, the list goes on.

I made a typo in the discussion and the date for the next snow is tomorrow, February 9, not the 19th. Sorry. We've been getting snow every few days and in only a week and a half will have had over four FEET of snow fall on us!

I live in an agricultural State. There are a lot of farmers here, cattle farmers, chicken farmers, etc. All this snow is hurting them, too.

I have no problem driving in snow, as long as the roads are passable. I actually like a little snow... at least I did before this year!

It's all gone??? Where did it go? I'm in Virginia, in the mountains. We got 32 inches with that last storm and, believe me, it's still here! Oh, it's been plowed off the streets, for the most part, and we shoveled our sidewalk and driveway, but the snow is still here, just piled up to the side.

Well, get ready for more snow tomorrow. I won't be doing any shoveling this time, partly because I can barely MOVE today from all the shoveling yesterday! I'm actually wondering when the penguins are going to start waddling into this area! Maybe a polar bear or two as well! LOL

Well, I really can't say I blame you. 6 to 10 is plenty!

I did and home again before it started, thank goodness. I am always afraid of the weather, especially when he is in the vehicle with me. If I would go in a ditch and could not get the ramp down, I am not sure how we would get him out.

I hope we never have another winter like this again, for everyone's sake.

I just got an alert telling me that we are under a winter storm warning (changing it from a "watch") and can expect 6 to 12 more inches. Seven plus didn't sound as bad as hearing that "12" on the end!

The last one told us we were going to get 4 to 6 inches. We ended up with 10. Now they are saying 6 to 10, and we are under a watch. I am guessing it will turn into a warning later tonight or in the morning.

Oh, I'd give anything to just have an inch or two! I wouldn't even be talking about more snow if that was all they were predicting. This has been an absolutely insane winter, hasn't it?

I won't be doing any more shoveling, either. I got out there yesterday to help my husband so he wouldn't be snowbound and could get to work today but I'm really paying for it today! I have fibromyalgia and sometimes forget that I just can't do things like I used to.

We actually moved here because my husband loved snow so much. Unfortunately, he didn't realize just how much of a pain it is when you have to do all the shoveling yourself. He's always lived in apartments or condominium townhomes where the association took care of snow removal. Here, we have to do it all. He's not so thrilled about snow anymore. LOL

I'll definitely be coming for a visit, once I can get dug out from all this! They just updated the forecast to a warning from a watch and said now it's 6 to 12 more inches. Earlier, the most was supposed to be nine inches. At this point, though, even one more inch is too much.

Who knows? I might just fall in love with Florida and want to stay. There's one advantage that I don't have here, aside from not getting snowbound and that is I could grow my tropical fruits! I adore tropical fruits and they're so expensive here. We've paid as much as 75 cents for one orange!

I know we'd have a lot of great times together, that's for sure!

I think I'd like this a lot better if we had a fireplace, but we don't. I do have that thing that burns sterno on the wall in the livingroom but it's not the same.

I hope we have a fantastic Spring. I'm worried that we might have a repeat of last year with way too much rain. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a beautiful Spring, though. It should be awesome with all this snow, as long as it all doesn't get washed out.

Geez, I'm beginning to sound like a pessimist. But, maybe that's not so bad. An optimist is often disappointed while a pessimist is never disappointed and often pleasantly surprised. LOL

They updated our forecast for tomorrow. Instead of 7 to 9 inches it's now 6 to 12. Based on what we've had so far, I'll expect over 12 inches.

I've had cabin fever since the end of the week before last. My husband's truck is still in the shop, awaiting the new transmission. Of course, the guy who has been working on it didn't make it in to work today. So, I'm still sitting here with no transportation. Maybe I'll go out tonight while my SUV is available, just to stretch my legs a bit. I'm pretty sore from the small amount of shoveling I did yesterday but not so sore I can't get out for awhile. (A long, hot soak in the tub helped a lot! LOL) Our side roads, I'm told, are still pretty bad but we have a lot to do on the main roads. Even just a trip to WalMart at this point would be enjoyable!

I just got back! Went and got a nice bottle of brandy, yummy! Also some fruit and salad and such and more cat food--my strays have been very hungry, they always are when it's cold!

A real optimist doesn't get disappointed, by the way. When I optimistically look for six inches of snow and we get 10, I think of how much prettier it looks. If there is a wet spring and things get ruined, I would think of how much the aquifer has been replenished. If my house slid down a hill I would think of the nice new bathroom I would get with the insurance money when I rebuild!

Excellent way of seeing it! I'm just suffering from cabin fever and really-cold-and-snowy-winteritis. I have all my seeds for this year's garden and like to go outside and just look around, picturing the new garden in my mind but that's impossible with all this snow.

So, being the optimist I really am (with only an occasional bout of pessimism poking it's way in) I'll just get busy reading the new gardening books I ordered about more natural ways to garden and companion plantings. Maybe I'll even set up all my seed-starting equipment. It's not quite time to start them but it's not far away, either. I think I can manage to keep busy enough so I forget to look outside and remind myself of just how bad this winter has been.

I'll just have to remember to NOT turn on the Weather Channel, as well.

Hahaha! We get enough thick mist here, living in the mountains. Sometimes I'm not sure if it's fog or a low cloud.

You know, with the proper refrigeration, that snow would reach you. Of course, it might be a bit cost intensive to ship it so far. I wish we could give this snow to Vancouver for the Winter Olympics. They've been trucking in snow because they haven't had much at all and here we are with all this stuff we don't want. Maybe, with enough really big fans aimed toward Vancouver... hmmmm...

Wow! That is an extreme change! I can understand why you hate snow so much! I've never seen this much snow before and am hoping that it will never be this bad again so, hopefully, you won't have to go through this again. I'm in northern Virginia, in Winchester. West Virginia is to the north, west AND east of us. So, we're neighbors! You've probably had the same amount of snow as we have here. I'm from Maryland where we've had snow every winter my entire life and even I am sick of it this year!

I hope, for everyone's sake that we never have a winter like this one (or worse) ever again. Take care and stay warm! Spring WILL come... eventually.

what happened to all that Global warming ???I could use a little about now?

Yeah, really! I think global warming was just a rumor spread by the people who would benefit from all of us buying recycled stuff. It sure isn't happening here!

Hey, that works for me! We'd better leave soon because they'll probably start cancelling flights before too long.

They've updated our forecast to 6 to 12 inches, from 7 to 9. This has to stop!!!

Our was upgraded to. Now it's 12-14 inches. I'm sure it will be upgraded about 5 more times before the storm even starts tomorrow.

Yep, ours was updated again to 8 to 12 inches. At least they haven't raised that last number! (Knock on wood!)
