what important lesson have you learned from a family member ?  

Everything happens for a reason. We should never allows ourselves to get down or upset as there is a reason it happens this way and its for the good.

Also my mother taught me to always smile, it costs nothing and can change someone else life without ever knowing. She also taught me to always extend a hand in kindness to anyone that needs for we never know if we might one day be on the other end and also nobody deserves to beg etc, the least we can do is help

Hi, I learned many lessons, all lessons of life from my grandma. The one which I took years to learn, and which gave me the confidence and positive outlook to life is what I consider most important in life is, "BE YOURSELF". She always said that to me. Don't compare yourself with anyone. You are you, and you are the best. Live an honest life, for that you need to be yourself. Her words and life always inspires me.

My mom and dad taught me to be a better person and let me have this kind of trait because of them. Though, I may have negative trait but I don't blame me for that, this is just me and everyone has it's own personality.

They've taught me almost everything I know and they taught me to become a responsible person....like I need to help my siblings because I am the eldest...

Though, I may feel bad about my parents like their attitude or something...still, they are my parents and I am not here in this world if they weren't here.

Hi, OYGAK2005. I have learned that never tell all of your business to someone. My aunt taught me this. And my father always told me to never give up. He would tell me that whatever me and my sister do, please don't smoke or drink. He says that once we start it will be hard to quit. I have honored all both of these requests. I did it because I don't want to get myself involved into this habit. I have learned so much from certain people in my family. My oldest male cousin on my mom's side once told me to just be yourself. I was just about to attend high school soon, and I did not understand what was expected of me and how I was supposed to act, so he told me to just be myself and I would be fine. And I did just what he told me. Many people did not like me because I did not fit up to their standards. But I liked me.

From my father, I learnt that every conversation gives you something. Therefore, listen and reason using the content. He is right! In less than three days you can make out a lot about a person with just conversation!

The first lesson i have learned from my family is, how to look and aprecciate the diference. My father say that every person alwys has own opinion, style and the thinking. We can't force all our idea to the others person. The most importance is we can work together as a team even there are some diference.

The most important lesson that I have learned from my mother is that you should always be independent. It is hard because you do want people to be there for you; however, you have to know how to take care of yourself and cope with your own life. It is hard because I have seen that I have become very independent, but the part that no one tells you is how hard it is to be independent. There are times I just wish that there was someone to learn on for support especially when I get tired of being so independent.

It is interesting the comment about smilling my dad used to say something that all the time, but it had the opposite affect it would make me not want to smile. I guess you could say it was my way of not giving my father what he wanted because he never gave me what I needed. It is interesting the self-defeating behaviors that we learn in childhood.

The best memory that I have of my father is him always saying it was too early for Christmas music until the day after Thanksgiving. In addition, I can remember one time going shopping with him and he making a comment that it was too early for Christmas items to be in stores because it was before Thanksgiving day. These are things I remember every year. It is interesting the words that ring in our ears from our childhood. I think the lesson here is to take one thing at a time in life, and focus on that one thing until it is completed. I sometimes forget this lesson, but I always find myself reminded when I hear Christmas music before Thanksgiving.

i think that my mother teach me important lesson.my mother few care about me and be cooled with me,i know why she treat me not well,especially one thing she have done hurted me deeply and start my independence of life.although i met many difficluties and failure,but i could not request her help to me and adere to deal with it depending myself.so i make an independent character to face life's difficulties.i think that nobody can help me.the important thing i can finish it only depending myself.

...Hi OYGAK2005, This was not a great profound lesson of wisdom, but it did help me to make a wise decision. Although I am the oldest daughter in my family, my sister who is a little younger than I am moved out on her own before I did. When I finally moved out on my own, she told me not to pay a lot of money for my furniture, because I would get bored with it over time. I followed her sdvice, and she was right. In time I was ready to change things and have a new decor. So she gave me very good advice related to human nature and boredom as well as economics. Take care. Happy holidays.
